(EDO-NQ) is a non-profit, non-government community legal centre specializing in public interest environmental law. EDO–NQ is located in beautiful Cairns, a regional city, flanked by World Heritage listed areas: the Great Barrier Reef and The Wet Tropics. EDO-NQ focuses on providing advice to members of the public about environmental law issues. It is also involved in community legal education. The EDO-NQ web site has loads of information about its work and services, and environmental law in Queensland. In particular, it contains fact sheets that summarise planning laws in Queensland, explain the regulation of World Heritage areas in North Queensland, and a raft of other useful information.
